| Rob Carlmark, 12 News | | Sunday was full of rain, snow, wind, lightning, and hail. A full blown weather day and that isn't even counting the massive temp drop. 80s to 50s in a day...massive. Sunday night will see some tapering off of showers for the Valley but we still are locked in the same pattern through Monday and should see additional showers pop up during the day. It looks like the system is a little slower so we have a 40 percent showers through Monday for the Valley and higher chances for snow in the High Country. Additional precip (rain/snow) will be lighter except for areas near thunderstorms or convective snow showers. One additional snow forecasting note is the the very low snow potential for Monday. Typically you see the coldest temps of a storm after the moisture has left and they dry air and clear skies allow for the most cooling overnight. In this case, it's different because we should have very cold temps in the morning on Monday (for this time of year) and we still have lingering moisture. All of this adds up to snow chances down to 3,000 ft. and some flurries down to about 2,400 ft. Areas in the far North, and East Valley should be on the lookout for hail, graupel (soft hail) and snow flurries. Tuesday we clear out and warm up and I see 80s again by Thursday. | 6 day forecast Today
