Here comes the heat, and wildfires for Mother's day. Sunday will be sunny and hot with a high near 105 for Phoenix and near 110 for Yuma and the areas nearby. The 1000+ acre Sunflower fire in the Tonto National Forest will be tough to fight with the heat, and the winds are expected to be breezy from the North 5-15mph. We have an Excessive Heat Warning Sunday for that area but not in the Valley, but make no mistake it will be very hot. We will get even hotter for Monday and Tuesday with highs near 107 degrees with only slight cooling to 105 for Wednesday. Thursday we begin a cooler trend, and get down to 100 by Saturday. There is no rain in the forecast.
