| Rob Carlmark, 12 News | | We have a very bad combination of excessive heat, and wildfires peppering the state and we don't see a broad change in the weather until Thursday. First up is the excessive heat for the Valley with temps between 105-109. This is very hot for this time of year and close to the record highs. We see a high of 106 for Monday, 107 for Tuesday, 106 for Wednesday and finally some bit of cooling with 104 for Thursday. The temps will continue to fall to near 100 for the weekend. The second big story is the number of wildfires in the State. We have the Elwood in the San Carlos Indian Reservation, the Bull Flat near Forest Lakes, the Sunflower near the 87 between Payson and Phoenix, and finally the Gladiator fire 3 miles North of Crown King. The weather will be hot, sunny and dry for the next 7 days. The main factor that usually drives large wildfires, the wind, will remain moderately breezy with general winds between 15-20mph with some higher gusts. This is somewhat helpful as we certainly can see strong wind events this time of year, but I do not see one in the short term. There is no rain in the forecast. | 6 day forecast Today
