Excessive heat is coming back to the Valley, followed by very warm and windy conditions by the end of the week. The high in the Valley should be near 108 for today and the record for Phoenix on Monday is 109. Bottom line: this is just about as hot as it can be this time of year. Piercing sunshine and heat will create a combination for excessive heat that can make people and pets sick, or worse. Remember your heat precautions and take it easy. Smoke is also a factor for areas near the fire and in the Valley so keep that in mind if you have breathing issues or are sensitive to air pollution. Tuesday we see some cooling down to 106 then 104 for Wednesday. By Wednesday an area of low pressure will move through to our North and knock the temps down to 100 in the Valley and the upper 90s for the rest of the week. This will also bring windy weather to the state and increase fire concerns into the weekend.
