We are in for some changes this week with minor cooling, high elevation thunderstorms, and a late week warm up. First we see a few sneaky areas of low pressure drop in and take our temps down a few degrees from 92 by Monday to near 90 for Tuesday and Wednesday. As the lows move through they should pull up moisture and bring some instability to the higher elevations of S,E, and NE Arizona. This will make the day start off mostly clear then you will see the big puffy cumulus clouds build around the Valley and in higher elevations in E. Arizona. Some of these will produce light scattered showers and some might produce dry lightning. Dry lightning is possible with early season thunderstorms with little rain. You get the lightning but no rain, so it can create fire hazard. In all honesty, most fires are human-caused but it's still a factor to watch for Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. The highest rain chances near the Valley remain at 10% for higher terrain North and East of the Valley. Thursday we warm up to the mid 90s and we should be near 100 for Saturday and Sunday.
